a post from nearly a year ago today-
It’s ok to not be ok!!
Read that again!! Everyone struggles, everyone has bad days, and that’s OK!
I want to make sure that in the moments where I may get caught up in trying to portray myself as someone who has it all together (which I def do not btw) I’m not sending the wrong message. I screw up. I say things I shouldn’t. Make decisions that aren’t the wisest. And I sometimes let my doubts about how and when the Lord will provide in my desperation stop me from being able to fully rest in His promises.
Following Jesus does not mean things will be easy. In fact, Paul talks so many times in the New Testament about all the trials he has faced because of his walk with the Lord. He writes in 1 Timothy that we must “fight the good fight of faith” and find joy in the midst of our sufferings. Our sinful nature will cause us to drift away from the Lord if we aren’t actively pursuing Him in every aspect of our lives.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
My friend- having a relationship with Jesus won’t end your struggles, but it will give you someone that will walk beside you and be there for you through them until the end!! What a sweet promise!! It won’t be easy, but you can find rest knowing that you aren’t in it alone.
