Giving and Receiving Grace

Decided I needed a little brain dump so here it is…

The Lord’s grace is abundant and overflowing. He is a God who does exceedingly more than we could ever ask or imagine. We are so undeserving of this gift, but that’s what makes it so sweet. We are sinful. Spiritually dead. But the Lord just loves us so much that He is willing to look past our flaws to say “I love you and you are so special to me”.

“Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?”

Matthew 18:33

So, then, how does this change how we treat the people around us? This is a lesson so heavily weighing on my heart in this season. I mean, who am I to react with a lack of grace to those who wrong me, when the God of the universe gave us everything despite our ultimate wrongdoing towards Him? “Quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger” has been the echo of the Holy Spirit recently, and trust me I don’t always react this way, but when I do it really is more fruitful than you may think. You really never know what someone may be going through behind the scenes, and they might just need someone who is willing to listen to them and love them well. If the Lord gives us so much grace, why don’t we pass some on to the people around us?
